Flora’s practice focuses on high-stakes complex commercial litigation, investigations, and criminal defense.
Flora helps secure victories against the odds. She has obtained reversals of decisions against her clients in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the New York Appellate Division. Flora was part of the court-appointed receivership team for a telecommunications conglomerate that successfully obtained its adversaries’ litigation files by court order, overcoming the other side’s hard-fought privilege objections. Flora’s varied experiences also include participating in federal jury trials, appearing in the Delaware Court of Chancery, defending international companies against civil RICO claims, handling disputes arising from the war in Ukraine, and representing a Swiss conglomerate in a defamation action implicating the former President of Guatemala.
Flora maintains an active pro bono practice. For one of her pro bono clients, Flora has helped win a Second Circuit reversal and remand of a Southern District of New York decision in an ownership dispute over a Jean-Michel Basquiat drawing.
Flora began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Nelson S. Román in the Southern District of New York, where she assisted Judge Román with a murder trial.
Flora is fluent in Mandarin.
