Sher Tremonte continues to fight for the rule of law

Sher Tremonte LLP filed three amicus briefs on Friday, April 11, 2025, supporting efforts to uphold the rule of law and resist increasing threats to constitutional rights.

We filed amicus briefs on behalf of criminal defense organizations in support of Jenner & Block and WilmerHale, two law firms recently targeted by Executive Orders issued by the President.  Our briefs point out the danger these orders pose to the Sixth Amendment right to counsel.  We previously filed a similar brief in support of Perkins Coie.

In addition, we filed a brief on behalf of 208 Members of Congress opposing the Trump Administration’s effort to end birthright citizenship.  The brief argues that birthright citizenship is guaranteed not only by the Fourteenth Amendment, but also by numerous acts of Congress and, as such, the Administration’s action violates constitutional separation of powers.
