Martin Njoroge

Martin represents individual and corporate clients in a variety of high-stakes disputes, including white collar defense, complex commercial litigation, whistleblower lawsuits, and regulatory enforcement actions.  He also maintains a wide-ranging pro bono practice, where he represents individuals and classes in both civil and criminal matters.

Before joining Sher Tremonte LLP, Martin was a litigation associate at Ropes & Gray LLP and Walden Macht & Haran LLP, where he primarily represented clients in federal and state investigations regarding alleged violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute, Securities Exchange Act, and the False Claims Act.  He also counseled clients on merger review regulations and provided transaction risk assessments in response to FTC antitrust inquiries.

Martin also maintained a robust pro bono practice, where he helped to successfully represent a class of Asian American and Hispanic voters in a Voting Rights Act case that changed Lowell, Massachusetts’ election system; defend the former head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in a lawsuit against Newsmax, the Trump Campaign, and political commentator and attorney Joseph DiGenova; and advise candidates for elected office on how to navigate the constitutional challenges created by COVID policies on Massachusetts’ ballot signature requirements.

During law school, Martin was a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau for two years in its Family Practice, and served as co-chair as well as co-founder of its Wage & Hour Practice during his final year. He served as a board member for the Harvard African Law Association and the Harvard Mediation Program, and was an active participant of the Harvard Black Law Students Association.

Prior to attending law school, Martin was a Teach for America corps member and spent three years teaching sixth-grade math in Durham, N.C. at Neal Middle School.
