Emma maintains a wide-ranging practice spanning both civil and criminal litigation, with particular experience in complex commercial disputes, First Amendment issues, securities litigation, and indigent criminal defense.
Before joining Sher Tremonte, Emma served as a law clerk for the Honorable John M. Walker, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Diane Gujarati of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She was also a litigation associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where she worked on a range of high-stakes cases at both the trial and appellate levels. Emma has devoted considerable time to pro bono matters, including one that resulted in the resentencing and release of an incarcerated client under New York’s Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act.
During law school, Emma served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Denny Chin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and interned for the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
