Sher Tremonte Welcomes Former DOJ Litigation Director Catherine Dick as Partner

New York, NY – May 26, 2026 – Sher Tremonte LLP announced today that Catherine “Cassie” Dick has joined the firm as a partner, further strengthening its capabilities in government enforcement, antitrust, health care fraud, and complex criminal and civil litigation. Cassie arrives from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, where she served as Director of Litigation.

As Director of Litigation, Cassie led and supervised all civil and criminal antitrust litigation matters for the Antitrust Division, including major monopolization and conduct cases and merger challenges. Her representative docket included high‑profile matters such as the United States’ actions against Google (Search and AdTech), Apple, Live Nation, Visa, AgriStats, RealPage, and UnitedHealth Group. In that role, she advised senior Division leadership, oversaw litigation strategy from investigation through trial, and prepared trial teams for courtroom examinations, oral arguments, and other critical appearances.

“Cassie is exactly the kind of trial‑tested government litigator our clients need when the stakes could not be higher,” said Sher Tremonte co‑founder Michael Tremonte. “She has led some of the most significant enforcement matters in the country, across multiple DOJ divisions, and knows how to assess risk, shape strategy, and win in court. That breadth of experience will be an enormous asset to our clients facing complex investigations and bet‑the‑company litigation.”

Before joining the Antitrust Division, Cassie held senior and trial roles in several other DOJ branches, including the Civil Division’s Consumer Protection Branch, the Criminal Division’s Fraud Section and Organized Crime and Gang Section, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland. Her work has spanned health care fraud and False Claims Act matters, pharmaceutical and medical‑product safety, consumer and data‑privacy enforcement, RICO and VICAR prosecutions, international cyber fraud, and large‑scale money laundering and public corruption cases. She has tried numerous cases to verdict, including RICO murder trials and complex health care fraud cases.

At the Consumer Protection Branch, Cassie served as Assistant Director and Trial Coordinator, supervising trial preparation and strategy in criminal and civil cases involving the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, health and safety offenses, wire and mail fraud, and the first‑ever criminal prosecution under the Consumer Product Safety Act. Earlier, as a Fraud Section Assistant Chief and Trial Attorney, she supervised Medicare Fraud Strike Force teams, led the then‑largest national health care fraud takedown in 2015, and spearheaded the investigation of Takata Corporation’s defective airbag scheme.

Cassie’s government service has been recognized with multiple DOJ and interagency awards, including the Attorney General’s Award for Fraud Prevention and a Service to America Medal Finalist honor. She began her career clerking for Judge Paul L. Friedman in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and practicing at a large international law firm in Chicago in securities, shareholder, and other complex commercial matters. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Columbia University.

“Over the past decade, I’ve seen firsthand how high‑stakes enforcement cases are built and litigated across antitrust, health care, consumer protection, and organized crime,” Cassie said. “Sher Tremonte has earned a reputation as one of the premier litigation boutiques in the country for complex trials and sensitive government matters, and I’m excited to join this exceptional team to help clients navigate investigations and enforcement actions on every front.”

Cassie’s arrival follows the addition of several former senior government officials as partners, including former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission official Tami Stark, former DOJ Market Integrity and Major Frauds Unit Chief Brian Kidd, and former lead federal defender Deirdre von Dornum. Cassie will be based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
