Robert Penn’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and white collar defense. He also devotes significant time to pro bono work and the representation of indigent clients.
Prior to joining Sher Tremonte, Mr. Penn was an associate at Wollmuth Maher & Deutsch LLP, where he represented individual and institutional corporate clients in commercial litigation matters involving antitrust, securities, and business law, in addition to clients in bankruptcy adversary actions and arbitration matters.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Penn clerked for the Honorable Ronald L. Ellis in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Honorable Michael Gerstein in the New York City Criminal Court, and the Honorable Jenny Rivera of the New York State Court of Appeals.
Mr. Penn graduated from City University of New York School of Law, where he was Editor in Chief of the City University of New York Law Review. During law school, Mr. Penn interned at the New York Attorney General’s Office in the Antitrust Bureau. He graduated from Hampshire College with a self-designed degree in Native American Studies and Law.
Mr. Penn is admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
